My name is Rebekah (after our matriarch Rivkah), and I’m passionate about education and discipleship.
At the age of 13, I was lost, but God turned my life around and saved me. It was then that I experienced a spiritual transformation that opened my eyes to His goodness, love, and forgiveness. I heard His call clearly upon my life, to follow Him.
YHWH has led me through ups and downs, and taught me a great deal – “Line upon line, precept upon precept”. I have been through ups and downs, and made many mistakes, though He was and is “able to keep us from falling” (Book of Jude)
Favourite Bible Verse: Deuteronomy 6:4-9, (the Shema Yisrael passage) was my meditation for nearly a year, and through that, I was led to pursue becoming an educator, even though I had dreamed of “full-time” Christian service initially.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
From one college and qualification to the next, He has led me and guided me, opening and closing doors, and supplying my every need.
Faith Background: If you must know, I come from a Methodist and evangelical background, having also been strongly influenced by anabaptism, particularly the emphasis on discipleship and living the “call of the cross” (*cough* the arminian inside *cough*)
I believe I’m a disciple of Jesus/Yeshua, no more, no less, and I call Him both Christ and Messiah, Lord and Saviour. Though somewhat “Messianic”, I believe the primary commands I should concern myself with are His teachings in the gospels.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Favourite Christian Authors: Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Corrie Ten Boom, whose lives in the midst of great trials stand out as examples.
Favourite Christian Music: Scripture songs and psalms!
Favourite Christian Speakers: David Pawson, Dr. Michael Brown and Arthur Katz
